Passing the towering grain elevators at Meridan, Illinois, is an eastbound Burlington Northern intermodal train on May 10, 1992. Apparently, the engineer aboard EMD SD40-2 No. 7234 has tied a red flag to the front railing as extra warning to pedestrians and motorists to clear the way.
