Remarks & Notes
Canarsie Local. New York City Transit Authority (NYCTA) R143 no. 8252 (Kawasaki, 2001-2003) is the lead motor on an 8th Ave-bound L train seen about to depart 6th Ave station. L trains run end-to-end on the Canarsie Line, one of very few NYC Subway services to run on a single line ("line" in NYCTA parlance referring to the physical infrastructure, rather than the service operated).
