Lights Out!
An Alewife-bound Red Line train arrives at Park St station in downtown Boston. The station features both island and side platforms, likely due to the large volumes of passengers transferring to/from the Green Line.
Unusually for modern transit systems, MBTA rapid transit (red, blue, and orange line) trains often arrive at stations with their headlights off. I asked the MBTA about this via their social media, to which they responded, "when approaching a station platform, operators are allowed to turn the train's headlights off if the area is well lit and their view is unobstructed."
The MBTA is very dear to me. The first trains I ever rode as a toddle to teenager were those of the "T" Here is a collection of MBTA Subway and trolley I have found on RP from the 60's thru today.
