Remarks & Notes
Climbing the two-percent ramp out Leyden, Colorado, under stormy skies is Union Pacific’s westbound MDVRO manifest freight on the afternoon of October 29, 1999. Six locomotives power the train, led by EMD SD45T-2 No. 4795. Trailing is a nice assortment of power that includes SD40-2, SD60M, a SP SD45T-2, GE AC6000CW and SD9043MAC models. On the far right, still shadowed by the dark clouds, is downtown Denver, its tallest buildings silhouetted against the distant horizon.
