Remarks & Notes
Trinidad Loop. This is a drone shot, but you can stand on the inside of the loop to the left of the locomotive and above the track and really appreciate the climb and the sounds of these beasts rounding the curve. At some point in the late 19th century, it was it was popular to call just about every mountain curve over half a turn a 'loop'. Trinidad loop had two iterations, this is the 'new' loop of about 70 years old now, both were just over half a turn, sorta loopy. Perhaps the most famous 'loop' is Cantara Loop, but neighboring Sawmill curve wasn't ordained a loop. Surely someone out there can clarify such parlance, in the meantime it's just fun to soak in the sounds of dieseliness and the sunshine on this side of the state so bereft to the rain-addled left side of the Cascade mountains.
