| After waiting at 23rd St for a couple of minutes, CSX K810-11 receive a signal to zigzag across the NS Chattanooga Terminal. This is a perspective of the new alignment at 23rd St. In 2018 it was decided by both railroad that to reduce the serious gridlock at the 23rd St crossover, the plan was to remove that diamond which would also remove the 25-mph speed through this interlock and replaced them with highspeed switches for a much faster operation. K810 is lined into the 0 track at Wauhatchie and will tie down for the day. Due to the shortage of crews, it was only going to be the next day till an available crew to take the train north up the Chattanooga Road to Nashville. |
