| Here we see the process of the removal of #2 main. CSX had decided some months ago that it was not needed and the decision was made to remove the track. This section of double track is on the CSX Mountain Sub between Berkeley Run Junction and RS Tower. It is already known to have caused several operational headaches and several trains have went on the law due to the track being OOS. Despite countless incidents where it has shown its worth and need, the removal process progresses on. Sometimes, we don’t understand why railroads do what they do. |
