"Follow the Flag": Originally a Class 1 railroad that served Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Missouri and the province of Ontario, Canada, the Wabash railroad was a major freight traffic hauler with most of its traffic along its Kansas City to Detroit line. In 1964, the Wabash merged with the N&W and continued to exist on paper until 1982. In 1960, the Wabash operated 2,423 miles of railroad. In 2012, NS painted twenty new locomotives in honor of their predecessor railroads, #1070 being one of them. Here, on March 7, 2021, #1070 will receive a quick crew change before heading west hauling train 393.
