"Before the Storm" One of the loudest, if not, the loudest, steam locomotive in the United States, R&N 425, simmers quietly in Jim Thorpe. She builds pressure shortly before coupling up to a 12-car train, which she will haul with ease up the steep grades of the Lehigh Gorge. In addition, EMD SD-50 #5018 is in the background, on display at the CNJ Jim Thorpe Station.
