Remarks & Notes
Surviving in 2020. Home Built D-500 and Plymouth ML-8 rest in the high dry sun of the San Luis Valley. D-500 a Frankenstein chain driven locomotive built of various railroad, truck and tractor parts vanquished steam from the railroad in 1957. ML-8 was purchased in 1977, it had lots of problems and saw very little if any use on the railroad. Hopefully these pieces of railroad history will be preserved. For now they bask in the sun awaiting a uncertain fate....

A compilation of DRGW's La Veta Pass route to the San Luis Valley now operated by the SLRG. With Rio Grande Scenic passenger operations coming to a close in 2019, the Alamosa sub is once again freight-only, as reflected here.
