| With both BNSF-served taconite iron ore mines closed due to soft demand for steel, most of the railroad's fleet of ore cars is currently stored with the exception of a few sets running to U.S. Steel's Granite City mill near St. Louis from the CN-served Minntac mine. Over 40 years of ore car evolution can be seen in this image at the railroad's former Great Northern ore yard in Superior. |
