C&TS ex-DRGW narrow gauge rotary OY plows eastbound just west of Cresco siding. This was the first operation of the OY since 1997, and was part of a two day event hosting about 150 photographers and spectators. If was the first event of the C&TS 50th anniversary season, and celebrating 140 years of steam over Cumbres Pass. Paul's comment below caused me to think about when I first stood in that spot, probably around 1964 chasing a DRGW hill turn from Chama. Yeah, I'm an old fart.
Landscape photography is difficult due to the challenge of combining good light and good scenery. Good railroad photography enters another level of complexity since it requires the first two while there is a train in view.
