Remarks & Notes
"Veterans Electric at City Island" Clouds begin to roll in, as hoped, while Amtrak Veteran's ACS-64 #642 pulls Regional 176 past the abandoned NYNH&H City Island Road Station. City Island Road Station, also known as the Bartow Station was a wooden station house built for the Harlem River and Port Chester Railroad, a branch line of the New York, New Haven & Hartford in the 1870s. Passengers would get off the train here and catch a nearby trolley to City Island. Later on, the wooden station was replaced by a Cass Gilbert designed station house in 1908 which is seen in this photo.
