These historic position light signals, located near Irwin, PA, are lit up for a westbound manifest freight. These signals were once the westbound home signals for CP interlocking back in the days of the PRR and early PC. These signals survived the downsizing of the RR, elimination of CP Tower and Interlocking, the double stack clearance project, and multiple other obstacles that have taken down bridges similar to this. These signals have stood the test of time. Unfortunately, these will be removed in next year and the last surviving remnants of CP Interlocking and the PRR here will be gone.
The EMD SD (special duty) series are a strong and reliable kind of locomotive which still serve America's rails today. They have proved themselves reliable by clocking in several million miles of freight service over several decades.
