Charging through Garibaldi. Polson Logging Company Mikado #2 leads an early evening freight double-header past the fish pier in the resort town of Garibaldi, Oregon, as she makes her way north along the former SP Line toward Rockaway Beach, Wheeler and beyond.
The road engine this evening is McCloud Railway Prairie #25. Ordinarily, I'm not really into double-headers with locomotives that never would have run together historically, but after three days of photographing these engines on separate trains, it was about the only thing we hadn't done, and the light this evening was just too good to be shooting the same old, same old. I think this was the only run-by of the entire charter when either of the engines made white smoke vs. black. I'm guessing that the crew finally ran out of the black smoke pellets and had nothing left but white....LOL!
