Actually, not to worry; this set of new Rio Tinto ES44ACi locomotives are undergoing validation tests on the GE-FW test track at Justin, TX, and have just reversed and are heading back towards the GE plant. There are 2 signs at the north end of the test track, one reading "1000 feet until end of track", and the other reading "500 feet until end of track". No, there are no telltale signs of locomotives ever reaching the barriers at the end of track....
