After traveling most of their trip in darkness, the crew on this UP intermodal from LA quickly round their final curve off the west slope of the Tehachapi’s, at Sandcut, during the early hours of a summer morning before they reach the journey’s destination in Bakersfield. The train however, will re-crew in Bakersfield and then continue on up the heated Central Valley to Northern California.
