Remarks & Notes
You are looking at the return, loaded, move of a Utah Ry. crude oil train. It had come east from Provo earlier in the day with a train of empty tank cars, which it set out at Martin Yard. They then picked up these 3 crude oil loads, positioned those empty boxcars as buffers and took off west for Provo. Total time at Martin, about 2 hours. The train is seen here exiting the horseshoe curve in Price River Canyon below Kyune. Those GP38-2’s are normally used for Utah’s BNSF work in the Salt Lake Valley.
