Remarks & Notes
Saturated light filtering through cloudy yet blue skies makes for a unique catch of an early morning westbound Amtrak Regional sprinting through Linden, NJ on the inside passenger express track. The mighty Pennsylvania Railroad laid six tracks along this portion of the Northeast Corridor with the intention of creating a two track freight bypass. The bypass continues to the next station south in Rahway. Ultimately, the pre-war plan never came to fruition and today the tracks are used almost exclusively by New Jersey Transit.
