Remarks & Notes
With a little snow still on the ground from a storm earlier today, an eastbound SP pig train passes the big coaling tower at Mescal, AZ. The tower appears to have been built shortly after SP acquired the El Paso & Southwestern and stated using coal mined in New Mexico. The photo was taken at the time SP was busy double-tracking this part of the Sunset Route.
