Night has fallen in Gletsch. Two steam trains of the Dampfbahn Furka Bergstrecke (DFB) are in the station, and on the right there are 3 milk cans ready to be loaded. On the left cogwheel steamlocomotive HG 2/3 # 6 "Weisshorn", built in 1902 by SLM Winterthur for the Visp-Zermatt Bahn (VZ), which became later the Brig-Visp-Zermatt (BVZ) and is now part of the Matterhorn-Gotthard Bahn (MGBahn). On the right cogwheel steamlocomotive HG 3/4 # 4 of the former Brig-Furka-Disentis (BFD), then Furka Oberalp Railway (FO), built in 1913 by the SLM Winterthur. This was a privately organised photo charter.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
