| On a sunny spring afternoon, Santa Fe 4035 East roars through the cut below the Loop. The eastbound has just crossed Tehachapi Creek and is headed for tunnel 9. The grade on this part of the line is ferocious, and combined with the tight curvature put tremendous stress on motive power. |
