When the weather gives you rain, you make rainbows! OK, figuratively speaking... In the wee hours of June 4, while awaiting the Union Pacific OCS train at Phillipsburg, PA, a move to stay dry under the Phillipsburg Main Street Black Bridge presented the opportunity for a different photo angle than that of the bridge and station I had previously planned. This angle would actually partially use the bottom of the bridge that was used for protection from the rain to also supply a unique photo angle of the PU tower and the passage of a Norfolk Southern freight. PU Tower was nicely restored earlier in the decade by Ron and Jeane Titus and is in immaculate condition. The tower was originally constructed in 1921 and had fallen into disrepair after the 1980s. The Ron and Jeane purchased it and restored it with intent of stimulating some rail tourism in the area. On this particular night, the tower looks like it well could have been occupied as NS train 19G rolls westbound past it at 0201 hrs with a friend engineer wave for the night photo.
