Annual northbound run of the James E. Strates carnival train from their headquarters in Taft to New Jersey. And beyond! Train, once again without coaches (BUT with repainted flats and a few new ex-RBBX) is seen snaking up #2 track and crossing over to #1. The empty flats will be filled with show equipment already on the road. The scene has changed vastly in recent years, but in 1983, the Orlando station was where I spent my very first full day of fanning in The City Beautiful (before moving here the following year) and, at the end of the day, with the last glowing rays of light, I distinctly remember getting the northbound Strates train....so even tho' many things change, many stay the same.
