Remarks & Notes
Rare PD1 narrow gauge passenger railcar on the tracks of Tesovo narrow gauge railway. PD-1 railcars were produced from the mid-1950s on the Demikhov Plant in the Moscow Region. Inside the metal case there were seats for the driver and 10 passengers. The body was installed on a welded frame, specially designed for a trolley and having nothing to do with a car. In the front part, under the hood, there was a motor of 50 hp and 75 hp) which, through the automobile clutch, four-speed gearbox and reverse. The gearbox transmitted the rotation to the rear wheel pair (on two-axle trolleys) or to the first wheel set of the rear trolley (on triaxial trolleys), the second axle of the trolley connected to the first bush roller chain. As the hood, the hood of the GAZ-51 was used. For driving in the opposite direction, the trolley was equipped with a hydraulic jack. The jack hung the trolley over the rails, it was turned into a manual one, after which the railcar was lowered onto the rails and rode in the opposite direction. All PD-1s were equipped with only a handbrake driven from the steering wheel located on the steering column. PD-1 on the photo is about 60 years old. After the release of the factory, that railcar entered the Repel narrow-gauge railway line of the forestry enterprise in Leningrad region, where it was exploited until the early 1990s, when the timber industry and then the narrow-gauge railway fell into decay ... In the mid-90s, the railcar was dismantled and abandoned at long-distance the ways of the station of the regiment ... But after almost 20 years a group of enthusiasts found and took out a unique trolley and gave her a second life. PD-1 became one of the first working exhibits of the Museum of the Tyosovskaya (Tesovo) UZD.
