| I never tire of seeing SD45s, having grown up with these C&NW behemoths. These were probably my favorite as the flares really stuck out with no dynamic brakes. Later that would cause an earlier than necessary demise as growing coal business required dynamic brake units. 955 is leaving the mainline with a Duluth bound freight from St. Paul during a period when C&NW had abandoned their more direct Spooner-Hudson, WI line and not yet attained trackage rights on BN. The train appeared to be crew changing here at Eau Claire before heading north to Chippewa Falls and Spooner. |
