On June 22, 2004, Union Pacific’s LJP45 local out of Helper, Utah, was returning to town entering the yard when the lead truck of Rio Grande SD40T-2 No. 5349 derailed on the switch to Yard Track 2. It didn’t take long and a force of men that work in Helper arrived on the scene and made quick work of getting the lead truck of No. 5349 back on the rails using the other locomotives in the consist to pull it back onto the rails using strategically placed wedges. With the power now headed to the enginehouse in the background, several of the guys work to remove all the splintered remains of the wooden wedges jammed in the switchpoints.
