| Ge 4/4 III # 644 "Savognin" is pulling Interregio 1145 from Chur to St.Moritz over the 65 meter high and 136 meter long Landwasser viaduct, landmark of the Albula line of the RhB. The mighty limestone viaduct, built from 1901 to 1902 and opened for traffic in 1903, has 5 pilars, is in a grade of 2.0 % and the track has a radius of 100 meter. It leads directly in the vertical rock face and the 216 meter long Landwasser tunnel. About 22000 trains are crossing the viaduct every year. |
