Diesel over Steam
The 1869 - 1871 built viaduct near Göhren crosses 68 metres (74 yd) above the river Zwickauer Mulde the Mulde valley railway. In the 1980ies they run three sand trains per day, all steam hauled. This line is shut now. By pure luck a passenger train from Leipzig to Karl-Marx Stadt (Chemnitz) crossed the viaduct in the very moment the steam train rolled over a small bridge with a damaged side walk ("saved" with two wooden sticks).
