Remarks & Notes
The evening rush hour is over and former Boston & Maine RDCs now owned by the MBTA await their late night runs to the suburbs at Boston's North Station. RDC 6143's window grates and the numerous dents from rock strikes on the end panels are evidence of the vandalism problem that urban railroads in the Northeast faced in the 1970s.

The 70's and 80's were a transition period for the MBTA characterized by an eclectic mix of equipment including Budd RDC's, ex-New Haven stainless steel coaches, and a mix of motive power acquired from various railroads.

Railroading in the 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, basically anything but the 2000s.
