| The three-phase electric multiple unit, First of its kind in Chennai plying between Chennai Beach and Chengalpattu, approaches Kodambakkam basking in the evening light..
The new 12-car rake comprising four units with solid-state Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistors (IGBT)-based three-phase propulsion drive system has been manufactured by Integral Coach Factory at Perambur.
the coaches had been fabricated with stainless steel body and provided with electronic sensors for computer monitored speed control and braking system. This EMU also has regenerative braking system.
