Passing at Imbleau. The former CB&Q #4960 holds the siding at Imbleau (formerly Apex) as her stablemate GCRX #29 comes charging past. Both locomotives are facing south and hauling consists of former SP Harriman Commuter Cars. Imbleau is essentially the southern entrance to Coconino Canyon. Just a few miles south of here, the land is open and flat, and the railroad runs straight as an arrow. But as one approaches Imbleau, the pines start to appear and the land becomes more hilly. Just north of this location, the grades become steeper and the tracks begin to wind and twist through the canyon.
