With darkness approaching, rebuilt NS SD40-2 No. 3242 leads two other NS SD40-2's and an NS EMD SD60 downhill at Swiss with a loaded coal train from High Power for Alloy Yard. Here, the train is tracing original New York Central trackage before reaching Alloy, where the power will be turned and the train will head south on former Virginian Railway rails. Now, all trains operate on Watco's Kanawha River Railroad.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
