Amtrak's southbound Vermonter train 55-28 passes through Bethel, Vermont, and the depot that once served the White River Railroad and the Vermont Central Railroad, but today serves as a night club and restaurant. Several versions of this same construction are found around Vermont, including the depot at Randolph and one on the former Rutland at Chester, Vermont.
The successor to the Montrealer, the Vermonter runs between St. Albans, Vt., and Washington, DC. Much of the northern part of the route runs along the Connecticut and White Rivers.
