Amtrak train 75, the midday southbound "Piedmont" service, speeds through the town of Thomasville, NC on December 11, 2017. Leading locomotive number 1869, the "City of Durham," was built 29 years ago this month for GO Transit before being later bought by the North Carolina DOT.

Some of the best passenger locomotives that EMD ever made (aside from the F40PH). With all Amtrak F59s gone from the Surfline, the only place that they can be seen is with Caltrans (Amtrak California).
