Remarks & Notes

EMD's first F40, and the first of the more than 200 that Amtrak would own, pauses at New London, CT, with a Boston-bound corridor train. New London Union Station, in the background, was opened in 1887 and originally served both the New Haven RR and the Central Vermont; today at the age of 130 it's Amtrak and bus lines.
