The 2-10-0 steamlocomotive C 5/6 # 2978 "Elephant" of SBB Historic got a large revision in Brugg (AG) by the very experienced members of steamgroup Zürich (Verein Dampfgruppe Zürich). Now it is standing on the several decades old axle load scale at shed F in Zürich main station. Up to 6 axles (12 wheels) can be wighed simultaneously and precisely on this unique device, to adjust the springs for accurate axle load. The 12 scales were built by the Carl Schenck Gmbh at Darmstadt/Germany. In the upper part of the photo you can see the cranked second driving axle, powered by the high pressure cylinders inside the frame. The outer low pressure cylinders are powering the third driving axle.
