Remarks & Notes
On Halloween morning, the air is crisp and cool along the Colorado Plateau in Northern Arizona as the sun begins to rises behind the thin layer of cloud cover. The sky changes from a flat grey to a fiery red as the rumbling sound of General Electric motors creep louder and louder. With a whopping total of 17,600 horsepower, these locomotives are crawling at snail speed up the 1.4 percent grade of Angell as they pull an Omaha, NE to Port of Los Angeles, CA intermodal train over the Arizona Divide.

Good Light, Good Scenery, and a Train

Album created by member Lee Kirchhoff

Landscape photography is difficult due to the challenge of combining good light and good scenery. Good railroad photography enters another level of complexity since it requires the first two while there is a train in view.
