Remarks & Notes
Living up to its name, Amtrak's Pacific Surfliner 'surfs' along the California coast line as it races across the iconic trestle at Gaviota in the afternoon light with the private cars "Overland Trail," "Pacific Trail" and "Silver Splendor" and an extra Amtrak locomotive bring up the rear.

What California is known for. Fires, droughts, weed, and people waving rainbow flags. Yah. Great place alright. At least the trains are nice.

Some of the best passenger locomotives that EMD ever made (aside from the F40PH). With all Amtrak F59s gone from the Surfline, the only place that they can be seen is with Caltrans (Amtrak California).
