Remarks & Notes
Hippsche Wendescheibe (Hipp's turning signal) at Neuthal. This type of signal was developed by the inventor and watchmaker Matthäus Hipp and was first used in Winterthur in 1862. The signal is named after him and was in use long before the wing signals. The drive works by means of a weight in the signal tower, which has to be retracted after approx. 200 turns of the pulley. The signal is triggered electromagnetically with current from a battery (low-current electrical pulse) and works more reliably during storms and in winter than turning discs operated by wire tensions. The current pulse always triggers clockwise rotation of the disc.

Nocturnal Nuances & Lights In The Night! (Between Sunset - Sunrise / Sundown - Sunup!)

A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
