Remarks & Notes
Late autumn color is still in the trees as Boston-bound Amtrak train 168 approaches the East Haven, CT, tunnels with the standard F40/Amfleet consist. The East Haven cut and tunnels were part of an early 20th century line relocation by the New Haven Railroad that bypasses the Shore Line's original alignment closer to New Haven harbor.
