Dawn at Bealville Since the night sky lightened to forewarn dawn, clouds filled in the sky over Tehachapi Pass. A low sun tries in vain to peek through a break in the gloom. At 6:45 a.m., attention to the gray clouds and wet, dewy grass is shaken as a horn is audible blowing for Cliff siding and Tunnels 5 and 4 to the east. Moments later, a BNSF train whistles for the Bealville grade crossing under the only light of a February 27, 2016, morning. By midday, the clouds will be gone, replaced by another sunny day in California.
An ongoing and growing collection of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome, but seldom seen beauty of the railroad world because most of us don't get out after sundown. From dusk to dawn, lights are on! (And I continue to find new "Lights In The Night"!)
