Remarks & Notes
Long before the Guilford organization used its corporate identity for system-wide operations under management-friendly work rules, the Springfield Terminal Railway was a 5.5-mile long ex-interurban shortline operating between Charlestown, NH, and Springfield, VT. Electric operation ended in 1956, after which the line's sole diesel was brightly painted GE 44-Tonner #1, which posed here near the railroad's Springfield yard.
