| From the Bronx to Manhattan and back to the Bronx....then Manhattan. A geographical oddity in the maps of New York City, Marble Hill, Manhattan is in fact in New York County. Re-channeling of waterways and filling of land has attached it to the Bronx. Riders on Amtrak Train 230 (P42DC 95 leading on 7/12/2017) will now make this trip for the next 2 months on the way to Grand Central Terminal over MTA Metro-North Railroad trackage during construction at Penn Station (New York City). In the background, the Broadway Bridge carries cars and the 1 line of the MTA New York City Transit Subway. All of these landmarks make this one of the signature shots of the lower Hudson Division. |
