Remarks & Notes |
In the New Haven Railroad's final summer, FL9 2041 leads New York-Springfield train 52 into the station at New Haven. The chipped paint on the nose, notoriously common on FL9s, was the result of the tradition of car knockers in the confined space of Grand Central Terminal's high level platforms signaling engineers by tapping there with their hammers! |
