Remarks & Notes
This slab sided Budd car began life as a Coach that Amtrak chose to convert to a baggage car in the late 90s for the then-expanding mail and express business. This came at a time when Heritage cars without retention toilets (they were direct dump, meaning when you flush, everything goes down onto the track), which would have required modifications for retention toilets and an interior refresh. It sits in the yard with another Budd product that was originally built as a baggage car for the Santa Fe.
