Remarks & Notes
After working first shift, I scooted over to the MIT area of Cambridge to photograph the Readville switcher. Veteran GP18 No, 904 is traversing the Grand Junction Running Track originally built in 1856 by the Grand Junction Railroad to connect their tracks in East Boston with the Boston & Albany (then the Boston & Worcester RR) in Allston, MA. This section of track connects the MBTA Northside and Southside territories and is imperative for MBTA equipment moves, such as this, Amtrak equipment moves and CSX local B721 which services the Produce Market in Chelsea, MA.
