It lasted 150 years........but it won't make 151. CNW's Alden, IL depot was on the KD line between Kenosha, WI and Rockford, IL. Built in 1867, the line thru Alden was abandoned in 1939. Somehow, the depot survived, but looked rougher with each passing year as this photo from 1999 shows. Unfortunately, it met its end in 2017. The good news is that much of the wood was reused and the RR artifacts were donated.
