MEC 3404, one of five ex-Quebec North Shore & Labrador SD 40-2s on the roster, leads the weekly unit Slurry trains eighty six loads across the stone arch bridge over Fall RIver at 23:21. The stone arches, built 1848-49, have only had one change over the years, the top layer of overhanging cement slabs to allow for improved track ballast. Its justifiably proud builders, watching the first wood burning 4-4-0s cross, could never have imagined tonights scene!
