Hump job NS 6206 passes sister unit NS 6201 on the receiving track 0 as it head further in to the receiving yard to couple up to a line of cars that is ready to be hump. NS 6201, and its RPU6 Yard slug is couple up to NS 117 cars, on receiving track 1 ready to send the cars over the hump. Unfortunately the clock is ticking as far as Hump operation at the 62 year old NS Debutts Classification Yard. The old tradition of railroading has been push aside by the term "Efficiency." While I'm saying this, rival railroad CSX has taken that term efficiency, and use it to their advantage by shutting down humping operation in certain yards throughout their system to save money, and to find faster way to get the cars to their customer. With that being said Norfolk Southern's management has watched CSX make such a risky move. NS has made it known from the inside that in order to keep up with the competition, the railroad will have to make the same move, which mean that Humping operation at Debutts Yard as of June 1st will be put on idle, and all yard operation will be used on the receiving tracks for flat yard switching, pick up, and drop off, etc. From a lower man position the fear of layoff's is imminent in a sad sense.
